Selecting panels

So as you know, oral examination for my research study is coming soon and i got confused in choosing the panels. I am pondering between panels who are expert in my research (the advantage to choose this kind of panels is that they will help in giving ideas to improve my research but obviously I need to be well prepared for their killer questions) and panels who are kind and soft hearted (This one, i don’t have to tell you the benefit of choosing them. I believe you know the answer. Hahaha!). My SV suggested some panels that she thought were good, however the end decision was left to be made by me.

Panel A: her research is related to mine. But she likes to condemn students. (i dont know how do I describe this. You have to experience it by yourself. Seeing her expressions and listening to her words will definitely make you down.)

Panel B: hmmm.. Her expertise does relate to my research but only a little. She knows about cell culture but her main expertise is in extraction. BUT, she is kind, she will not ask you any tough questions and I believe she will help me during the presentation. Hahaha!

Panel C: obviously related to my research. Both of us are dealing with adipose cell. This is the solid reason why i chose him. And I heard that he is tolerant to the students. I mean he surely will ask you tough questions but in a good manner. Hmm.. Can I say not like Panel A? HAHAHAHA! So, yes. I choose panel C!

And also, Panel D who is an expert in optimization. So I chose panel C and D. Good luck sheema!

fact about me

Ummu tagged me this on fb. HAHAHA. Indeed, wawa will be the richest student in UTM if she has done this service before. I often knocked her door late at night just to ask her to accompany me to the toilet.            -__-” and wawa  always willingly “escort” me there with her eyes half opened. And now, while doing my postgrad study I have to force myself to be brave enough since wawa is not here anymore and i dont have a roommate to “escort” me. I always imagine weird, scary looking hantu will suddenly appear out of nowhere while i am brushing my teeth or doing my business. HAHAHA. So, after days of struggle, i finally found a promising solution to this problem. No more toilet after 12 am. HAHAHAHAHA!

I'm back

Hi,

It has been a long time since the last time i updated my blog. Currently i am busy doing my research. Oral examination for my proposal defence is just around the corner and here I am with thousand of things to be covered. Meanwhile I still need to catch up with my experimental schedule so that my research work won’t be left behind. Despite the hectic life, surprisingly I enjoy this. Serious. No kidding. I don’t know how to describe this feeling. HAHAHA. But i am sure that one of the factors contributing to the fact is my surrounding. Doing my research at IBD seems to give me a lot of happiness! (*exaggerating). Well, I can say that my supervisor is much better than my friend’s SV and I am thankful for this! Postgraduate students are helping each other despite having different research scope and SV. They do not mind sharing their knowledge and their apparatus at all. They even teach me many things that I don’t understand. I feel so blessed to be a part of this kind of working environment.

Okay. Now tell me how do I get rid of these dark circles pleasee!!!

BLACKOUT

Hi,

Last week Ira and I went to a place named as Dapur Jendela, located at Jalan Tan Hiok Knee, near Bazaar Karat. It was unplanned since the whole UTM was blackout and we wanted to escape since it was too hot to stay in the room. HAHAHA. We ordered Nasi Kukus, Roti Jala and Lempeng. The price was affordable and surprisingly, they served a big portion of food. (Well, I was full after eating them. So it can be considered as a big portion right? Hehehe). I give 4 stars for the interior and for the taste, only 3 stars. Sorry. But honestly, Roti Jala at Pasar Malam and my homemade Lempeng are much better (*giggle*)

After stuffing ourselves, we went back to UTM, hoping that everything was back to normal. But we were wrong! UTM was still in the blackout. So, I called Ummu to ask her whether both of us may sleep in her room since we were scared. HAHAHA. And Ummu said they (she and Sal) were going to sleep at the hotel in Taman U. So, without even thinking, both of us agreed to follow them! HAHAHA.

azierah’s engagement

Date: 20th February 2015
Location: Gemenceh, Negeri Sembilan

A week before the engagement, I received a call from her telling me that she will get engaged. What a good news! I’m so happy to hear that. However, she was not well prepared  (mostly about “hantaran”. Plus she was extremely nervous. HAHAHAHA). So, I decided to help her (xdela tolong sgt pun. -__-‘) and went to Gemenceh,Negeri Sembilan for 5 days. From UTMJBàKLàGEMENCEH.  Just for you ziera!

Alhamdullilah her engagement went smooth. And look! Ziera is super happy because she got two rings! HAHAHA.

Ziera’s mother. I stayed for 5 days and gained 2kg++. How can I resist masak lemak cili api? Besides, her mother cooks well. Everything that was served was so delicious! Mak cik also packed me with rendang ayam before I went back to KL. So generous!

Congratulations ziera and partner. Seriously, I can’t wait for your wedding soon!

My name is Mak Lang

I have a niece who is pampered by my parents. HMM… Not just by my parents but by everyone in the house. Don’t know why. Probably because she is the one and only grandchild in my family. So everyone loves her. HAHAHA.

Looking back, my father once said to us
“When you guys get married and have your own child, don’t ask us to babysit them. We want to rest and enjoy our free time.”

And guess who was the first person offering himself to take care of his granddaughter?
My dad! -__-“

So my parents were babysitting intan since she was born. They are willing to babysit her considering my sister’s job as a nurse has different working hours. Nurses work in shifts.  Actually, my sister and her husband had planned to send intan to nursery but my dad insisted to babysit. He was afraid that intan will be abused as stated on the news nowadays.

One day, while I was watching tv, I heard intan was calling someone’s name mak mak. Obviously, I’m not mak mak. So I ignored her and continued to watch the tv. But she kept repeating it and I became annoyed. I looked at her and she smiled. So, that mak mak is me???  -___-‘
It’s so challenging to teach her on how to pronounce the word MAK LANG. She has been calling me mak mak since then. It’s not even funny. Because calling me mak mak is not so glamour at all. HAHAHA.

The old sheema

Hai.

I used to be fat. My weight was 80kg++. Why? Because I love food! HAHAHA.  Well, that was in the past, those times when I used to stuff myself even though I was full. (tsk..tsk..tsk..). Now, I usually stop eating before I get full. I have to. HAHAHA. Being fat is not really sweet. I can’t stand others’ perspective/comments toward fat people. Some of the comments were:

“You look prettier if you lose some weight”
“You don’t have a bf because you are fat!”
“Why are you bigger than your sister?”

Whenever there was a gathering for hari raya my uncle was like:
 “You are getting bigger!”
Of course his voice was loud and clear. Everyone can hear. I assumed that he did it intentionally.  I was offended and hurt.  Hari raya was supposed to be fun.  My uncle ruined it. And we were supposed to ask for forgiveness but what he did was the complete opposite!

As a matter of fact, I am offended by comments like “You look prettier if you lose some weight” or “you’re pretty since you have lost some weight”. Seriously. What is wrong with you? Everyone is pretty in their own way. Don’t be such a narrow minded person. In fact, I am pretty when I was plump. HAHAHAHA. Sorry. No offense. I am perfectly content with myself.

Actually, I was lucky because I started to lose weight during my internship. Because, I have to walk around the production site, climbing stairs, walking and keep walking around. As a result, my weight was reduced. In addition, I don’t have enough money to buy a lot of food since my monthly allowance was RM300 only. So, I lost weight unintentionally. Hehehe.

When I got back from internship, my friends were shocked to see me. -___-‘  Rumors started. Me losing weight became a very hot issue.  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I mean they wondered on how I managed to lose weight.

As new semester began, I walked to the lab since I had no transport.  The distance from my college to the lab is quite far. So, my weight reduced more. HAHAHA. No transport? I was thankful for that! Hehehe.
I realize that in terms of health, it’s not good to be overweight. I do agree with this. Well, if you tell someone to lose weight because you’re worried about their health, it is good rather than you ask them to lose weight just because they look unattractive since they are overweight.

The old me. *giggle*
